The Ontario government has announced that as of October 9, capacity limits will be lifted to allow 100 percent capacity in many settings where proof of vaccination is required. This includes concert venues, theatres and cinemas.

This is welcome news to the music scene, for which in-person events have been mostly grounded since the beginning of the pandemic. Although some concerts have taken place in the summer, they were held under strict limits with social distancing. The return to full audiences will now mean new blocks of tickets being made available for upcoming musical performances, and undoubtedly long lines to enter the concert venue as vaccine passports are checked for each patron.
