he Honens International Piano Competition awards the largest prize of its kind—$100,000 CAD and an Artist Development Program valued at a half-million dollars. Finals Sessions are preceded by pre-concert chats at 6:30 pm featuring Honens’ Artistic Director Jon Kimura Parker. On the second of two nights of Finals, the three Finalists perform their choice of a post-Classical piano concerto with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and guest conductor Karina Canellakis. The evening builds to the announcement of the 2018 Honens Prize Laureate, presentation of awards, and a special farewell performance by 2015 Honens Prize Laureate Luca Buratto.
