It is with tremendous gratitude and sadness that at the threshold of this new year we announce the farewell of Josie Verrillo as general director of the National Congress of Italian-Canadians, Quebec Region.
Josie in more than 20 years dedicated to our organization, has built important cultural bridges, expanded the vision of the Congress, promoted and helped the many talents in our community, transformed La Semaine Italienne into ItalfestMTL, a festival that now has nearly 500,000 participants and has become part of the most relevant events of the Montreal summer. Josie has organized, directed, developed ideas and projects aimed at preserving, disseminating and communicating our roots, our culture, our values, and our art. For this and much more, the president of the National Congress of Italian-Canadians (RQ), Antonio Sciascia, with the members of the board of directors would like to express his infinite gratitude and appreciation to Josie Verrillo and at the same time wish her all the best for the future.
We would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate and wish good luck to the new director general, Francesca Sacerdoti, Josie’s collaborator, whose vision is aligned with the values of the National Congress of Italian-Canadians and our community. Francesca has worked for years in the field of culture and music, event organization, publishing and project management and we are confident that her skills combined with her personality will ensure the smooth continuation and success of all the activities promoted by our organization.
The National Congress of Italian-Canadians (RQ) therefore wishes Josie Verrillo and Francesca Sacerdoti good luck in their endeavours and takes this opportunity to wish the whole community a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
